IBM Diversity Race

We got inspired by the organisation Vasaloppet, and decided to ask our co-workers who usually live in India to ski Stafettvasan (relay 90 km). Some of them have never seen snow before and more importantly, they have never tried cross-country skiing. A 'diversity team' was created and the members have shown a big interest for this classical Swedish ski marathon. Throughout fall of 2015 and winter 2016 they will have a schedule filled with team meetings, ski camps and lessons in skiing techniques. You can follow the team and encourage them here in their preparations for this exciting challenge!

About

The IBM Diversity Race has an ambitious training schedule. There will be a series of individual, group training sessions and SATS-classes in our IBM gym every week, before we move to the outside terrain. We are hoping for snow in Stockholm, but are preparing with three ski camps, one which is in the indoor SkiDome of Göteborg, and two which will be further north in Sweden. The team will have ski instructors, technique and equipment training, even learn the science of waxing skis!
